What inspires you? MOVEMENT: When I was a kid, I was up and out the door riding my bicycle or running around the neighborhood before school started. I’m naturally energetic and love to share my passion of fitness and movement. What’s your fitness background? I played sports in high school, football and track and field (Sprints/hurdles/decathlon). This is when I learned all the Olympic/power lifts and the importance of form and control. Fast forward a lot of years I now have 16 years in the Army and study movement principles on my free time. I try to incorporate what I learn in my personal workouts and anything I coach. I prefer sprints (half-mile and under), but I have ran the Army 10-Miler once. People that know me, will tell you I won’t run outside if it’s under 40 degrees.
Any academic background or certifications? I am a certified Kettlebell instructor, Schwinn Indoor Cycling, and TRX instructor. I plan to continue my education on human movement so I can offer this knowledge to all my clients.
What do you like about CYB? I found CYB when I arrived here from Michigan. I liked the family feeling when I took my first class. It doesn’t matter your fitness level, you’re part of the family day one. I enjoy the variety of classes, like the “Have Faith Spin Class”. This is truly a judgement free gym and everyone will help in any way possible. This is why I am now a coach at CYB.
